Loaded dip recipe – Romesco sauce recipe

Everyone’s obsessed with a loaded dip recipe at the moment and this homemade dip recipe takes the shop bought loaded dips to a whole new level. We love a romesco sauce recipe as it’s perfect for a Summer dip choice thanks to its freshness. Meat loaded dips have been a trend already this Summer and Our peppery Proper Porker British Sausages are the perfect topper for this romesco dip (although our sweet Caramelised Porker British Sausages with caramelised onion also work great) Give this a go if you’re looking for easy BBQ recipes to take your BBQ spread to the next level. Prep the romesco sauce dip before your friends get there for minimal stress!


  • 1 pack of The Jolly Hog Proper Porker British Sausages ​​
  • 4 red peppers (roast them on the BBQ or buy pre-roasted peppers)
  • Parsley
  • 2 handfuls of roasted or raw almonds​​​
  • Half a jar of sun-dried tomatoes 
  • 1/5 tbsp of Belazu Roasted Garlic Flavour Hack (if not using this, you can peel and mince 2 garlic cloves)​
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste​
  • 4 tbsp of olive oil ​
  • Tortilla chips or bread to dip in (optional)
  • Feta (optional)


  • Start off this romesco sauce recipe by roasted the red peppers on the BBQ. You can add the peppers straight onto the coal and allow them to burn slightly, then just peel off their skin before chopping. These make for the best BBQ peppers.
  • Next up, take our British sausages and squeeze the sausage meat into a skillet (or foil tray) and put it on the BBQ. Use a spatula to break up the sausage mince and keep stirring until you have lovely crispy BBQ sausage. We love using this method as a bit of a switch up to standards BBQ sausage recipes.
  • Whilst your sausage is cooking, chop all the other ingredients very finely and combine them in a bowl. At this point, you can either use a food processor for a less chunky romesco dip, or you can stir with just a spoon like Olly did for a chunkier romesco sauce dip.
  • Crumble feta and chopped parsley on top then add your crumbled crispy sausage meat. Dip tortilla chips or bread in, divine!
