This traybake recipe will leave the whole family feeling warm and cosy, and is perfect for picky little piglets. Packed full of veggies, with sweet potato, onion and apple, this recipe will help you sneak in some goodness to your children’s lunch box. This recipe goes great with our Little Porker chipolata sausages or our chicken chipolata sausages. Swap out the veggies for other foods if you don’t have the ingredients – or if you have fussy little ones to cater for!
• 1 pack of Jolly Hog Little Porker Chipolatas
•. 2 apples
• 2 sweet potatoes
• 1 tbsp honey
• 2 red onions
• Olive oil
• Salt
• Peel a large sweet potato, or two regular sweet potatoes, and then chop them into small cubes. The smaller they are, the quicker it’ll cook so chop them smaller if you’re pushed for time.
• Chuck the sweet potato into an oven tray and pre-heat the oven to 200 fan.
• Core an apple and chop it into thinner slices.
• Cut the skin off a red onion and then chop it into thinner chunks. Chuck it into the tray with the apple.
• Lay half a pack of our chipolata sausages on top of the tray of food and then drizzle with olive oil.
• Roast for 15 mins and then turn the food over. At this point you can drizzle some honey for some extra sweetness or add salt and pepper for seasoning.
• Leave the tray to cook for another 10 mins then check on it. If you prefer your sausages a little more browned, pop the grill on for a couple mins to give the skins that brown colour.
