Pork smash tacos recipe

We’ve all been seeing the smash burger recipes go viral, so we had to give it our own try with this delicious pork smash tacos recipe. Combining the viral smash burger recipe, with the equally viral smashed tacos recipe, this fusion tacos recipe is quick to make but delicious to taste! For this fusion smash taco recipe, we’ve used our peppery Proper Porker British Sausages – which are great for any sausage meat recipe – to get that juicy, crispy, and perfectly seasoned pork tacos topper. Ingredients

  • 1 x pack of The Jolly Hog Proper Porker British Sausages
  • Mini tortilla wraps
  • 2 spring onions
  • A handful of coriander
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 tsps of grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar 
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil 
  • Red cabbage (optional)
  • Cucumber (optional)
  • Sriracha mayo (optional)

Method

    1. Start this pork smash tacos recipe by squeezing the sausage meat out of our British sausages. We used our Proper British sausages but you could also use our Caramelised Porker caramelised onion sausages for a sweet and savoury finish!
    2.  Next up, get to work chopping and mincing the garlic, spring onions, coriander and ginger.
    3. Mix the sausage meat with the minced ingredients, as well as all of the remaining ingredients. You don’t need to add seasoning as our award winning sausages are perfectly seasoned already!
    4. Take the mini tortilla wraps and add a couple of tablespoons of the smash burger mix onto the middle of each of the wraps. You want to use a flat surfaced item to smash the meat down onto the wraps and make it thin so that it cooks quickly, without the smash burger wrap burning.
    5. Next up, heat a frying pan on a medium high heat with some sesame oil. Take your smash burger tacos and – very carefully – place them sausage meat down onto the pan.
    6. Let the crispy sausage meat cook for a few minutes (3-5) then flip the tacos for the last minute to give the smash tacos a little crispiness.
    7. There’s loads of toping options for these fusion pork tacos recipe, but for this fusion smash tacos recipe we topped ours with pickled red cabbage and cucumber and sriracha mayo. Crispy chilli oil would also make a great addition to these pork smashed tacos!
