Pizza sandwich recipe

Everyone has seen the viral pizza sandwich recipes so we thought it was time we give it a go! Turns out sausage pizza sandwiches are even better than your classic sausage pizza recipe. Rosie and Ben cooked this up for our team lunch, combining our award winning, peppery Proper Porker British Sausages, with spicy chilli jam and creamy burrata. If you’re looking for more pizza sandwich ideas, you could try this with our Caramelised Porker caramelised onion sausages with some aioli, or you could bring pizza to brunch, using our Black Treacle British Bacon with a fried egg and yummy ketchup!

Ingredients

• 1 pack of The Jolly Hog Proper Porker British Sausages
• Pizza dough (we used Franco Manco but Northern Dough Co is also a favourite of ours)

Toppings

• Chilli jam
• Burrata
• Roasted red peppers
• Rocket

Method

• Start this sausage pizza sandwich recipe by cooking our sausages according to pack instructions, until crispy and golden on the outside.
• Form the pizza dough into balls, rolling it out into pizzas. Form a crust by kneading the dough.
• Top the pizza sandwich with olive oil to prevent it sticking then fold it in half and gently place it in your pizza oven until cooked.
• When you take your pizza sandwiches out the oven, use a knife to open them (be careful of steam) and add your sauce of choice before topping with chopped, or crumbled and crispy, sausage.
