Harissa Pork Cheeks Tostada Recipe

This Harissa Pork Cheeks Tostada Recipe is an epic dinner party dish or Friday night meal. We love a pork cheeks taco recipe because pork cheeks are the perfect tender meat to go in tacos. Ingredients

  • 6 mini tortillas 
  • 1 red onion 
  • 3 tablespoons of white wine vinegar 
  • 1 teaspoon of caster sugar 
  • 1 tablespoon of tahini 
  • 3 tablespoons of thick Greek yogurt 
  • 1 lemon 
  • Small bunch of coriander 
  • Quarter of a block of feta 

Method

Before you start this Harissa Pork Cheeks Tostada Recipe, make sure to pop a pack of our British Pork Cheeks in the oven and cook according to pack instructions.

Pickled onions method: 

  • Finely slice the red onion and place in a heatproof bowl 
  • Pour the white wine vinegar, caster sugar, a dash of water and a pinch of salt into a pan 
  • Heat until the liquid is lightly simmering and the sugar has dissolved 
  • Pour the liquid over the onions, stir to coat them in the liquid and leave for 30 minutes (or longer) to pickle 

 

Tahini yogurt sauce method: 

  • Combine the Greek yogurt, tahini, the juice of half a lemon, salt & pepper in a bowl  
  • Stir to combine 

 

To assemble: 

  • Toast the tortillas in a hot, dry frying pan until they are lightly charred 
  • Place on a sharing board and add a spoonful of the tahini yogurt on each, spreading it out with the back of a spoon 
  • Pull the pigs cheeks apart and portion them up equally on top of the tostadas 
  • Add the pickled onions, coriander leaves & crumble your feta to garnish… enjoy!
