We could not be more happy to have donated 36,000 packs of food to FareShare UK ??
We started this year with the aim of donating 30k packs of our sausages, scotch eggs and ham to FareShare, an amazing organisation that helps distribute surplus food to charities and community groups, helping to prevent food waste and tackle food poverty. Many families around the UK often go without proper meals, and good quality meat is something in particular that they often go without.
After learning that, we made a pledge to work with FareShare this year to help them tackle that. Every purchase of our Ham and Scotch Eggs fuelled these donations, and helped us to reach, and pass, our aim of 30,000 packs.
Our donations (fuelled by the lovely people who have picked up a pack of our food) have equated to about 100,000 ham and sausage sandwiches for the people who need them the most.
Knowing that we’ve been able to make an impact, even if a relatively small one, has made us very proud and we couldn’t be more grateful for each of our jolly hog customers who has helped us to do this.
