• 1 x pack of The Jolly Hog Streaky Bacon
• 1 x pack of carrots
• Black Treacle
• Olive Oil
• Preheat the oven to 220.
• Boil your carrots for 3-5 minutes just to get them softened for cooking.
• Peel your carrots and top the bottom ends off, but you can keep the top bits for an extra impressive looking dish like we did.
• Wrap a streaky bacon rasher around each carrot, starting from top to bottom – you should have lots of experience of this from wrapping Pigs in Blankets! ?. Use two rashers for the larger carrots and stop half way, tucking the new rasher under the other one to connect them.
• Brush the bacon wrapped carrots with black treacle. Pop it in the microwave for a few seconds in a bowl to make it more easily spreadable, then use a brush to coat the carrots on both side. You can always switch out this step and use our Black Treacle Bacon instead – just cut the slices in half vertically before wrapping.
• Add a touch of pepper and olive oil on top.
• Bake the carrots for 180c fan for 10 mins, then remove and add more treacle and bake for another 15 minutes or until the bacon has caramelised and gone crispy.
